Whitening/lightening creams have active ingredients that reduces the synthesis of melanin (the pigment that gives color to our skin). Therefore your skin appears whiter/lighter and also your sunspots or agespots (brown ones) become lighter.
Means, the cream you're using is completely different from a makeup. Makeup has color pigments to cover your skin and it's totaly temporary.
To use/not to use of this product is your decision. If you want to have a lighter skin in the long term, you may continue to use it. By the way this whitening creams are generally safe, only the ones with Kojic acid may result irritations. Ponds is usually a moisturizing cream , good for replenishing your skin.Foundation is just to cover up blemishes and clogs your pores.i would think it is fine and good for your skin
